For patients outside the United States, the first step is a Telehealth appointment to review your imaging and history — and to discuss whether a surgical option may be available, should you decide to travel to the US for evaluation and care.
Many people living outside the US have a spine condition and want to understand, before making any travel plans, whether a minimally invasive, robotic, endoscopic, or complex-spine approach might apply to their situation. A Telehealth appointment is a practical way to have that initial conversation directly with Dr. Dimopoulos.
Consultations are conducted in English. Bringing your existing imaging and reports to the appointment makes the discussion far more useful.
Use the Long Island Brain & Spine scheduling page to request a Telehealth (video) consultation. Note in your request that you are an international patient so the office can plan for the time difference.
The practice will follow up to confirm a time and explain how to join the video call, and — if appropriate — how to securely share your imaging and reports through the practice’s own process. Please do not send medical images or personal health information through this website.
During the call, Dr. Dimopoulos reviews what you provide and discusses, in general terms, whether a surgical option may exist for your situation and what an in-person evaluation in the US would involve.
Should you decide to come to the US, an in-person evaluation with appropriate imaging and testing is what allows any specific plan to be considered. Candidacy and any recommendation depend entirely on that in-person assessment.
