A measured, evidence-led approach to the spine

Dr. Dimopoulos is an attending neurosurgeon at Long Island Brain & Spine in West Islip, New York, with a practice centered on disorders of the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine. His training and operative experience span the full range of spinal surgery — from the most common degenerative conditions to complex deformity and revision work.

His central commitment is to match the treatment to the patient. That means an accurate diagnosis, a sincere effort to exhaust appropriate non-surgical options, and — when an operation is genuinely needed — a specific surgical plan built around the individual's anatomy. Wherever it is safe and appropriate, he favors minimally invasive, robotic, and endoscopic techniques designed to spare muscle and adjacent tissue, limit blood loss, control post-operative pain, shorten hospital stay, and support a faster return to daily life.

He is equally comfortable applying these less-invasive principles to complex problems, tailoring each approach so that even demanding reconstructions can, in many cases, be accomplished with reduced surgical footprint compared with traditional techniques.
